I just heard about the new Garmin 696 Portable GPS. The product is available on Sporty’s, where there is a nice demo video. The unit has all of the expected features of the 496 including XMWX, terrain, AOPA Airport database. New features include TIS input and NOS Approach Plates (no word on Jepps).
